Prairie State Cruisers

Episode 24: Cleaning Off the Frame’s Rear Crossmember

Exterior Body · Frame · Restoration

I have named Episode 24 of my 1970 Toyota FJ40 LandCruiser Restoration Series, Cleaning Off the Frame’s Rear Crossmember. I removed the Body in Episode 23, and that gave me great access to the frame of the LandCruiser. In this episode I remove the Passenger and Driver Side Tail Light Frames, both Bumpers, and the Trailer Hitch from the LandCruiser’s Frame

It looks to me that a few pieces of the Frame will need to be replaced, but that is to be expected with a 56 year old LandCruiser that spent its entire life, until I bought it, sitting outdoors in the northern Wisconsin weather.

As I always mention, I publish these videos because I am new to the LandCruiser restoration process. I will need the videos as a reference when I am ready to begin reassembling the LandCruiser. So, they are made for my benefit, not necessarily for entertainment purposes. But, if you are rebuilding a LandCruiser and there is anything you can use from them, please feel welcome to do so.

We have our 1970 LandCruiser Restoration series as a Playlist. Please be sure to check it out here:
